Great Comfort Food...Especially in Cold Weather!
The Ingredients & Instructions:
Ingredients
- 1 diced medium YELLOW ONION
- 6 tbsp BUTTER
- 3 minced GARLIC CLOVES
- 3 14.5-oz cans DICED TOMATOES
- 1 cup CHICKEN BROTH
- ¼ tsp CRUSHED RED PEPPER FLAKE
- ¼ tsp OREGANO
- ¼ tsp DRIED BASIL
- ¼ tsp BLACK PEPPER
- 1 tbsp SUGAR (Optional)
- 2/3 cups HEAVY CREAM
Instructions
- Melt the BUTTER in a large pot or Dutch oven and sauté the ONIONS until translucent.
- Add the GARLIC and sauté until fragrant
- Add the DICED TOMATOES and the CHICKEN BROTH and stir to combine.
- Add the Oregano, Basil, Black Pepper, and Sugar
- Stir in the HEAVY CREAM and bring the SOUPto a rolling boil
- Reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes
- Transfer SOUP to a blender or use an immersion blender and puree to desired consistency
- Serve the SOUP warm!
