The Ingredients & Instructions:
Ingredients
- 1/4 cup HONEY
- 1 tsp. LEMON PEPPER
- 1/2 tsp GARLIC POWDER
- 1 tbsp.HOT SAUCE
- 1/4 tsp. KOSHER SALT
- 4 CATFISH FILLETS
- LEMON PEPPER, to season fish
- 1 cup SEASONED FISH FRY
- 1/2 cup CORN STARCH
- BUTTERMILK
- OIL, for frying
Instructions
- Heat the OIL to 350°F in a large Dutch oven.
- In a small saucepan over medium heat mix together the HONEY, LEMON PEPPER, GARLIC, HOT SAUCE, and KOSHER SALT. Simmer until fully mixed and the SEASONSINGS are dissolved.
- Remove from the heat and set asided
- In a contatiner big enough to fit a FILLET, mix together the FISH FRY and the CORN STARCH
- Lightly season the FILLETS with LEMON PEPPER on both sides.
- In a small bowl pour some BUTTER MILK and dip each FILLET in BUTTER MILK, let the excess drain and then dredge in the FISH FRY
- Fry the FILLETS in batches for about 5 to 8 minutes or until they are golden brown and have an internal temperature of 145° F.
- Place the FILLETS on a wire rack and drizzle with the HONEY SAUCE, serve immediately.
