The Ingredients & Instructions:
Ingredients
- 1 lb. SQUID
- 1 cup BUTTERMILK
- 1 cup ALL PURPOSE FLOUR
- ½ cup CORNSTARCH
- 2 tsp. KOSHER SALT
- ½ tsp. PAPRIKA
- ¼ tsp. PEPPER
- ¼ tsp. GARLIC POWDER
- VEGETABLE OIL for frying
- 2 tsp. chopped FRESH PARSLEY
Instructions
- Clean and cut the SQUID into half inch circles, then place the in a bowl with the BUTTERMILK and stir to combine.
- Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
- Heat OIL in a large deep pot to 350° F.
- Place the FLOUR, SALT, PAPRIKA, PEPPER and GARLIC POWDER in a medium bowl; stir to combine.
- Remove each piece of SQUID from the BUTTERMILK and dredge in the FLOUR.
- Place 8-10 pieces of SQUID in the OIL and cook until golden brown.
- Sprinkle additional SALT and PARSLEY over the Calamari.
