The Ingredients & Instructions:
Ingredients
- 1 lb. LEAN GROUND BEEF
- 2 tbsp. BUTTER
- ½ cup diced YELLOW ONION
- ¼ diced GREEN BELL PEPPED
- 8 oz. minced MUSHROOMS
- 2 tbsp. KETCHUP
- 1 tbsp. WORCESTERSHIRE SAUCE
- ½ teaspoon KOSHER SALT
- ½ tsp. BLACK PEPPER
- 1 tbsp. CORNSTARCH
- 1 cup BEEF BROTH
- 8 oz PROVOLONE CHEESE SLICES
- 1 cup FLOUR
- 2 cups PANKO BREAD CRUMBS
- EGG WASH
- MASHED POTAO , make your own or use Create Simple Meals Garlic Mashed Potato
Instructions
- Make MASHED POTATO, and set aside.
- Add the GROUND BEEF to a large skillet and brown until a deep brown crust appears before breaking the BEEF apart.
- Stir the GROUND BEEF and brown halfway.
- Remove the BEEF and add the BUTTER, ONIONS, BELL PEPPERS and MUSHROOMS.
- Sauté for 1-2 minutes stir and continue sautéing for about 2 more minutes and stir again.
- Add the BEEF back into the pan.
- In a small cup mix the BEEF BROTH and CORNSTARCH together
- Add the KETCHUP, WORCESTERSHIRE SAUCE, SALT, BLACK PEPPER, and BEEF BROTH/CORNSTARCH mixture into the pan.
- Cook down until the liquid is reduced about, 3-5 minutes.
- Turn off the heat, and let it cool to room temperature.
- Line a small bowl with plastic wrap and cover with MASHED POTATOES, leaving a hollow center. Place 1 slice of PROVOLONE CHEESE in the bowl and then fill with the BEEF MIXTURE and close the ball, covering the MEAT with the MASHED POTATOES. Seal the plastic wrap and repeat with the remaining mix and place all the balls in the freezer for at least 1 hour.
- Once frozen, remove the plastic wrap and roll the BALLS in FLOUR, EGG WASH, then PANKO BREAD CRUMBS and fry them. Drain the balls
